Suzie Bates, skipper of the New Zealand women's cricket team, today said her side's target will be to either restrict India to less than 250 runs or setting a target of more than 270 in the five-match ODI series starting here tomorrow.
"Batting first we would like to pile up more than 270 and bowling first we would like to restrict the hosts to less than 250," she told reporters on the eve of the first match.
Bates said she is happy with yesterday's win against India 'A' on a turning track.

"We couldn't have asked for better preparation because the ball was spinning and our batters faced the challenge well. We started on a winning note, so we are happy," she said.
Replying to a query, Bates said New Zealand boast of a strong batting line-up with attacking players, besides having good pace and spin options.
"We have potential batsmen in our line-up who can score at a brisk pace. Our bowling option is very strong too. We have two good spinners and pacers, and also part-time spinners, who could be handy in these turning conditions," she said.
