CPI-M today ruled out any post-poll tie-up with either Congress or BJP and charged "power-hungry and opportunist" Trinamool Congress with contemplating to side with BJP after the Lok Sabha polls.

"At no given scenario, we will go with Congress or BJP. It will be better if we sit in the opposition and oppose anti-people policies. We are not power-hungry like Trinamool ... For us it is a fight for ideology and values," CPI-M Politburo member Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said.

Dubbing TMC as "power-hungry and opportunist", he said Mamata Banerjee's party was not coming clean on its stand on Narendra Modi, the former West Bengal Chief Minister said.

"It is saying that it will play a vital role in government formation, but how will it do it? It can do it either by siding with BJP or Congress," he said.

Accusing the state government of remaining inactive in dealing with atrocities against women, he said anti-socials were calling the shots in the state as they had the blessings of a section of the ruling party.

"Why is the state government not taking any action against the culprits in cases of rape and molestation?" he wondered.

He said, "It (government) is not taking any action beacuse the anti-socials and goons have the blessings of a section of the ruling party."

He claimed that during the Left front regime too crimes had taken place, but strong action was taken against culprits.

He took a jibe at the state government for "being more absorbed in conducting festivals than bringing in investments to the state.
