Senior Congress leader Kunduru Janareddy today said the party would 'teach a lesson' to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the 2019 elections as it had 'failed' to fufil its promises to people.

"TRS has failed to fulfil the promises given to the people during the 2014 elections. We will teach them a lesson in the 2019 polls," he told reportrs here.

Janareddy, also leader of the opposition in the state assembly, said TRS had stated it would construct 2.70 lakh twin bedroom houses for the poor, but could not construct even 15,000-20,000 houses.

During the Congress regime, nearly 25 lakh houses were sanctioned and most of them were in various stages of completion by the time Telangana was formed, he said.

The state government has failed to see the reservation bill for minorities and scheduled tribes through, he said, adding that since TRS has not honoured its promises, Congress should be voted to power in the 2019 elections.
