Weak conditions prevail at the wholesale grains market

The wholesale grains market ended on a weak note today as prices of rice basmati and wheat eased on reduced offtake against sufficient stocks position.

Traders said besides reduced offtake, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions mainly kept pressure on rice basmati and wheat prices.

In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety declined by Rs 100 to Rs 50 to Rs 4,900-5,000 and Rs 3,700-4,600 per quintal, respectively.

Wheat dara (for mills) also fell by Rs 15 to Rs 1,700-1,705 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and eased by Rs 20 to Rs 1,705-1,710 per 90 kg.
 

Atta flour mills and maida shed Rs 10 each at Rs 890-900 and Rs 970-980 per 50 kg, respectively.

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) Rs 10,700, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 11,300, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,700, Basmati common new Rs 4,900-5,000, Rice Pusa (1121) Rs 3,700-4,600, Permal raw Rs 1,875-1,925, Permal wand Rs 2,075-2,125, Sela Rs 2,300-2,400 and Rice IR-8 Rs 1,700-1,720, Bajra Rs 1,510-1,515, Jowar yellow Rs 1,750-1,850, white Rs 3,300-3,400, Maize Rs 1,655-1,660, Barley Rs 1,390-1,400.
