Weak conditions prevail in grains market

Weak conditions prevailed on the wholesale grains market today as wheat and a few other grains ended lower due to reduced offtake against increased supplies from producing regions.

Traders said besides reduced offtake, increased supplies from producing regions mainly kept pressure on wheat and a few other grains.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills)declined by Rs 5 to Rs 1,535-1,540 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,545-1,550 per 90 kg.

Other bold grains like, maize and barley fell by Rs 15 and Rs 20 to Rs 1,320-1,330 and Rs 1,320-1,340 per quintal, respectively.

Wheat, MP (deshi) 2,160-2,360, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,535-1,540, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,545-1,550 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 840-850 (50 kg), Maida 840-860 (50 kg) and Sooji 930-950 (50kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 8,900-9,300, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 7,600-9,300, Permal raw 2,175-2,225, Permal wand 2,225-2,325, Sela 2,750-2,850 and Rice IR-8- 1,800-1,850, Bajra 1,290-1,295, Jowar yellow 1,475-1,500, white 2,325-2,525, Maize 1,320-1,330, Barley 1,330-1,340, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
