Tracking a weak trend overseas, silver prices moved down by 0.35 per cent to Rs 42,825 per kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed their positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March next year fell by Rs 151, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 42,825 per kg in business turnover of 304 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in December month traded lower by Rs 117, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 42,105 per kg in 6,305 lots.

Analysts offloading of positions by traders in tandem with a weak trend overseas mainly led to decline in silver prices at futures trade.

Globally, silver fell 0.03 per cent to USD 17.58 an ounce in London.
