The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) today seized a haul of weapons smuggled from Nepal in Bihar's Sitmarhi district, SSB sources said.

Acting on a tip off, the SSB jawans manning the Indo-Nepal border in Vishambharpur-Nanhkar village seized two rifles, nine pistols and 50 ammunition, besides a motorcycle on which some smugglers had come from Nepal with weapons, the SSB (20th battalion) Deputy Commandant Niraj Chandra said.

The smugglers made a hasty retreat to the other side of the international border by firing on the SSB jawans who, too, returned the fire, he said.
