To collect the data of possible crop damage in the view of delayed monsoon, weather stations are being set up across Chhattisgarh.
The data, collected from the weather stations will help in assessment of crop insurance benefits to be provided to the farmers against their crop loss.
"The state government has already launched weather-based crop insurance scheme for the ongoing kharif season to ensure relief to farmers in the backdrop of delayed monsoon," an official statement here said today.

The Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture department Ajay Singh also took a stock of the work of weather-stations and progress in implementation of weather-based crop insurance scheme during a meeting with senior officials yesterday, it added.
The officials have been instructed to give proper advice to farmers from time to time, in the backdrop of delayed monsoons.
