The Orissa High Court today granted interim protection to web portal chief Ravi Sharma asking the police not to arrest him until further orders in connection with the FIRs filed by four BJD MLAs following a sting operation by him purportedly exposing corruption.

On an anticipatory bail application of Sharma, Justice S K Mishra sought the case diary from Kharvela Nagar police station at Bhubaneswar and restrained the cops from arresting the petitioner, who had also been summoned by the anti-corruption wing of the state police, until further orders.

After the footage of the sting operation was aired by a local TV channel, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had ordered the state vigilance directorate to investigate the whole episode.

While the vigilance sleuths have already questioned the four BJD MLAs and issued summons to Sharma to appear, the legislators had filed an FIR against Sharma.
