Web portal of Punjab labour department launched

A website to simplify the setting up of new industrial units in Punjab was launched today.

"With the launch of this portal www.Pblabour.Gov.In, the unnecessary hassles regarding obtaining various approvals for setting up new industrial units would be done away with," Punjab Labour and Employment minister Chunni Lal Bhagat said.

"From now on permissions, registrations, license, designs under Punjab Factories Rules 1948, 1952, would be approved online. Renewal of approval for industrial units which are already functioning would also be done online," he said.

Registration and licences for contractors and principal employers under Contract Labour Act 1973 would be done online, while the shopkeepers and traders can also get themselves registered using the web portal, Bhagat said, adding all commercial establishments can also be registered online.
 

Principal Secretary Labour, Roshan Sankaria said the web portal would useful for the workers as well as commercial establishments and they would get acquainted with rules and regulations issued by the government from time to time.
