A 10-episode web series, titled "BAR CODE", dealing with the world of nightclubs in the mega-polis, is being developed.

The series is being produced by Panorama Studios, which has been behind successful films like "Pyaar ka Punchnama" franchise and "Drishyam".

"BAR CODE" marks the studio's debut in the digital space.

"With the current web-series space being heavily cluttered and with most of them being imitations of one another, we were on the lookout for something that would stand out, and in 'BAR CODE', we found the right script which deals with the fascinating world of Bombay's (Mumbai) nightclubs," said Abhishek Pathak, Producer and Managing Director, Panorama Studios in a statement.

The studio has partnered with One Digital Entertainment for the web series.

"We are very delighted to partner with them and are looking forward to engage both the consumers and brands with such an innovative concept," COO and co-founder of One Digital Entertainment, Gurpreet Singh said.

The production on the series will commence in mid-June and the casting process is underway. It will be shot in real nightclubs of Mumbai.

"'BAR CODE' looks closely at what goes on behind the scenes in one of the most glamorous businesses in the world. The plot has an interesting hook, the characters, humour and the drama are very relatable while the whole look and feel will be very upscale and chic," its writer-director Vignesh Shetty said.

"The treatment of the music will have an interesting mix of EDM, Bollywood and Deep House, which should connect with youth segment across the country," he added.
