Welfare schemes for milk producers initiated: Har Minister

Haryana Minister Bikram Singh Yadav today said the state government has initiated various welfare schemes for milk producers who are members of cooperative societies in the state.

An accident insurance scheme of Rs 5 lakh has been introduced with effect from March 1, 2015 for the members of primary milk cooperatives under Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation, Yadav said.

Other unregistered members of milk cooperative societies have also been included in the scheme, the Minister of State for Cooperation said.

Yadav said that under Kanyadan scheme, milk producers were given monetary assistance of Rs 1,100 for the wedding of their daughters.
 

A scholarship programme has been initiated for children of the milk producers under which Class X and Class XII students will be given one-time assistance of Rs 2,100 and Rs 5,100 for securing over 80 per cent marks.
