Aptly titled as "Ocean Oriente", the imaginary nautical journey commenced from Goa and ended in Shanghai via the Malacca Strait and Macao.
The show also presented traditional garments from the states worn during that era starting from Pano Bhaju of Goa to the flowy costumes of Chinese Samurai.
"My collection was all about this romantic and mystical journey from Goa to China. So, I wanted to create sensuality on the ramp and we used pastel colours to transport the audience into a dreamy voyage," he said.
Rodricks, who has for the first time used bling in his more than 35-year-old career, used a lot of malka cotton, silks, satins and organza to create softness.
"It was necessary to infuse bling on some garments because the 18th century Goa had bling in their costumes including the Pano Bhaju. I have also incorporated the particular black and white hair-do of Samurais," he added.
The show kickstarted with model Jesse Randhawa walking the ramp in a two piece.
Asked about whether or not was he apprehensive about the garment, he said, "I wasn't worried at all. I have full faith in Jesse. She has donned such dresses in the past with elegance and suave."
