Director Wes Craven will helm the small screen adaptation of Steve Niles' upcoming comic "The Disciples".

The 75-year-old director, who earlier co-created graphic novel "Coming of Rage" with Niles, is partnering with the author to adapt the comic, which is due to hit stands in May from Black Mask Studios, said The Hollywood Reporter.

"Disciples", drawn by Christopher Mitten, is a sci-fi horror story set in space.

The "A Nightmare on Elm Street" creator will executive produce along with Sara Bottfeld of Industry Entertainment. The horror maven is not writing or directing at this stage.

Black Mask co-founders Matt Pizzolo and Brett Gurewitz will executive produce with fellow co-founder Niles.

Craven is involved in MTV's version of his horror movie franchise "Scream", which is scheduled to air in fall 2015.
