West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday condoled the death of her Goa counterpart Monohar Parrikar.
Parrikar died at his private residence near Panaji on Sunday evening. He was 63.
"Saddened at the passing away of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar ji. He patiently endured his illness. Condolences to his family and his admirers," Banerjee wrote on Twitter.
Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi also expressed grief over the demise of the former defence minister.
"Shri Parrikar was among those public representatives, who always worked for the poor and downtrodden people," he said in a condolence message.
