West Bengal's small scale industry is doing well and its GDP growth is better than the national average, state urban development minister Firhad Hakim said today.
"West Bengal's growth is higher than the national average. We are growing very fast. In small scale sector there is huge turnout. We are doing very well," Hakim said at the inauguration of Industrial India Trade Fair here.
He said since there was "recession everywhere", big investments were not coming to Bengal as was happening in other states.
On trade relations with Bangladesh, he said there was a great sense of bonding across the border, which provided for more opportunities in trade and commerce.
