Keeping in view the shortage of manpower in different departments, West Bengal has decided to to engage retired employees on contractual basis for a period of one year.
In a notification issued by the state Finance Department recently, it was decided that 'a retired employee may be engaged on contractual basis beyond 64 years of age provided such engagement shall not exceed 65 years of age under any circumstances'.
"Such engagement shall not be made as a matter of course, but in the case of extreme necessity," the notification stressed.
