West Bengal is likely to get rains accompanied by thundershowers in most of the places over the next five days, according to the MeT officials here.
"Smart rain in the noon hours today brought relief to the people with the maximum temperature touching 33.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees less than normal," the officials said.
Maximum temperature in the state was recorded at Malda with the mercury touching 37.3 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.

This was followed by Bankura as the maximum temperature recorded there was 37 degrees Celsius.
Lowest temperature in the state was recorded at Darjeeling hills at 22.4 degrees Celsius maximum and the minimum dipping to 13 degrees Celsius.
The northern places of Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar also recorded maximum temperatures ranging between 35.4 degrees Celsius and 35.2 degrees Celsius.
The coastal town of Digha recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius.
