Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police Jasti Venkata Ramuduu today launched e-office application, e-challan facility in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district.
"As a part of policy matter of the Central government, the e-office application is being launched in West Godavari. The application was also launched in the offices of SDPOs, and police stations for the first time in Andhra Pradesh Police department," an official Police release issued here said.
This application enables the automation of files to improve the productivity, it is more transparent and time saving to the employees, it said adding, the application is environmental-friendly as it saves paper and money.

The software has been developed by the National Informatics Centre, New Delhi.
"Each employee who processes the files is being provided with digital tokens to put up the connected files. The entire process of implementation was done within two days in West Godavari District and all the ministerial staff are well acquainted with e-office management," it added.
E-Challan program is being introduced in West Godavari to improve the smooth passage of vehicular traffic during the busy hours.
The traffic violators like cell phone driving, rash driving, vehicles without numbers, triple riding, signal jumping, wrong side driving, improper parking will be identified and e-challan will be generated basing the information recorded in the Multipurpose Police Device (MPD) instruments and cameras provided to the team members.
A community FM radio was also being introduced in the district to create public awareness in the name of Police FM Radio with frequency 88.7, the release said.
