West Indies elect to bat in Sachin's 199th Test

West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and elected to bat first in the opening cricket Test against India starting here today, which is also the 199th and penultimate Test of Sachin Tendulkar's illustrious career.

India has fielded two debutants in the playing eleven in the form of Rohit Sharma and fast bowler Mohammed Shami.

For West Indies, pacer Sheldon Cottrell will make his debut in place of Kemar Roach, who is yet to recover from a shoulder problem.
