Western Range I G takes charge

Newly appointed Inspector General Police (IGP) of the western range, Amrit Paul took charge of his office here today.

The post was lying vacant ever since the transfer of Pratap Reddy in March this year, police sources said. Police commissioner R Hitendra was the interim in charge so far. Amrit Paul belongs to the 1995 IPS batch.

A guard of honour was arranged to welcome Amrit Paul at the office of the IGP at Pandeshwar. City Police Commissioner R Hitendra, Superintendent of Police Sharanappa S D and other officials were present.

Amrit Paul said that priority would be given to maintain peace in his jurisdiction and he would work for the betterment of the coastal districts.
