Prices of wheat and barley rose upto Rs 25 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on increased offtake by flour mills and stockists.
However, rice basmati met with resistance at existing higher levels and ended lower.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills led to the rise in wheat prices.

Atta flour mills and maida also traded higher at Rs 835-840 and Rs 940-950 from previous levels of Rs 830-840 and Rs 935-945 per 50 kg respectively.
Barley also seen in demand and gained Rs 25 to Rs 1,350-1,355 per quintal.
On the other hand, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety remained weak at Rs 9,200-10,300 and Rs 7,500-10,500 against last close of Rs 9,400-10,500 and Rs 7,800-10,800 per quintal, respectively on falling demand.
