Wheat eases on increased supply

Wheat prices fell by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on increased supplies from producing belts against reduced offtake by flour mills.

Traders said increased supplies in the wake of reduced offtake by flour mills mainly kept pressure on wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) fell by Rs 10 to Rs 1,630-1,635 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,635-1,640 per 90 kg.

Atta flour mills and maida also eased to Rs 875-885 and Rs 940-950 against last close of Rs 880-890 and Rs 950-970 per 50 kg, respectively.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,130-2,330, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,630-1,635, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,635-1,640 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 875-885 (50 kg), Maida 940-950 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,020-1,040 (50kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 9,000-9,300, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 8,050-9,800, Permal raw 2,200-2,250, Permal wand 2,250-2,350, Sela 2,800-2,900 and Rice IR-8- 1,850-1,900, Bajra 1,320-1,330, Jowar yellow 1,500-1,530, white 2,350-2,560, Maize 1,435-1,440, Barley 1,430-1,440, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
