Wheat prices went up by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on increased offtake by flour mills.
Rice basmati also strengthened on increased buying by stockists.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills mainly influenced wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) moved up by Rs 10 to Rs 1,515-1,520 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher at Rs 1,525-1,530 from Rs 1,515-1,520 per 90 kg.
Rice basmati Pusa-1121 and common variety strengthened to Rs 7,600-9,500 and Rs 8,900-9,500 from previous levels of Rs 7,600-9,400 and Rs 8,800-9,300 per quintal, respectively.
