Wheat prices inched up by 0.12 per cent to Rs 1,643 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 2, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 1,643 per quintal with an open interest of 4,320 lots.
However, wheat for delivery in March held steady at Rs 1,610 per quintal in 1,170 lots.
Analysts attributed the marginal rise in wheat futures to speculative positions created by traders due to uptick in demand at the spot markets from flour mills.
