Wheat prices went up by 0.80 per cent to Rs 1,775 per quintal in futures market today as speculators created fresh bets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in May moved up by Rs 14, or 0.80 per cent to Rs 1,775 per quintal with an open interest of 68 lots.
However, delivery in June month contracts shed Rs 4, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 1,787 per quintal in 5450 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to improved demand in the physical market amid a pause in arrivals from producing belts influenced wheat prices at futures trade.
