At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in May rose by Rs 17, or 1 per cent, to Rs 1,709 per quintal with an open interest of 250 lots.

Likewise, the wheat for delivery in April contracts edged up by Rs 6, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 1,680 per quintal in 1,750 lots.
