Wheat prices rose further by 0.46 per cent to Rs 1,755 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators engaged in enlarging positions on the back of rising demand from flour mills in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in October month moved up by Rs 8, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 1,755 per quintal with an open interest of 10,510 lots.
On similar lines, the wheat for delivery in November contracts traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,762 per quintal in 1,930 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by speculators on the back of rising demand from flour mills kept wheat prices higher at futures trade.
