Wheat prices were trading up by 0.30 per cent to Rs 1,675 per quintal in futures market today as speculators built up fresh positions, taking positive cues from the spot market on pick-up in demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in January was trading higher by Rs 5, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 1,675 per quintal with an open interest of 8,490 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders after uptick in demand from flour mills in the physical market amid pause in arrivals from producing belts, mainly influenced wheat prices at futures trade.
