Wheat inches up on increased offtake by flour mills

Wheat prices inched up by Rs 5 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today due to increased offtake by flour mills against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

However, other grains held steady in limited deals.

Traders said increased offtake by flour mills against restricted arrivals from producing regions helped wheat prices to traded tad higher.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1,635-1,640 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,640-1,645 per 90 kg.

The following were today's quotations per quintal:

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,070-2,270, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,635-1,640, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,640-1,645 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 870-890 (50 kg), Maida 950-970 (50 kg) and Sooji 990-1,020 (50kg).
 

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 8,600-9,100, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 7,800-9,600, Permal raw 2,150-2,250, Permal wand 2,250-2,300, Sela 2,800-2,900 and Rice IR-8- 1,850-1,900, Bajra 1,255-1,260, Jowar yellow 1,470-1,500, white 2,275-2,300, Maize 1,420-1,425, Barley 1,405-1,410, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
