Wheat moves up on increased demand from flour mills

Wheat prices went up by Rs 5 per quintal at the wholesale market today on increased demand from flour mills against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

Bajra and barley also seen in demand and ended higher.

Traders said increased demand flour mills against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) added another Rs 5 to Rs 1,585-1,590 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and edged up to Rs 1,590-1,595 from previous level of Rs 1,585-1,590 per 90 kg.

Other bold grains like barley and bajra also moved up by Rs 20 and Rs 10 to Rs 1,560-1,565 and Rs 1,230-1,235 per quintal respectively.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,245-2,445, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,585-1,590, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,590-1,595, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 820-830 (50 kg), Maida 920-925 (50 kg) and Sooji 990-1,010 (50 kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 9,000-9,700, Rice Pusa- (1121) new 7,200-9,700, Permal raw 2,100-2,150, Permal wand 2,200-2,300, Sela 2,700-2,800 and Rice IR-8 1,900-1,950, Bajra 1,230-1,235, Jowar yellow 1,400-1,420, white 2,325- 2,525, Maize 1,230-1,240, Barley 1,560-1,565.
