Wheat dara and non-basmati rice prices recovered up to Rs 30 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on the back of increased offtake by flour mills and stockists.
Movements in other grains including rice basmati were restricted in the absence of worthwhile activity.
Traders said increased offtake by stockists and flour mills to meet rising demand, helped wheat and non-basmati rice to trade higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) traded Rs 5 higher at Rs 1,650-1,655 per quintal, while wheat MP (deshi) held flat at Rs 2,070-2,270 per quintal.
In the rice segment, non-basmati permal raw, permal wand and sela traded Rs 20 each higher at Rs 2,120-2,220, Rs 2,295-2,320 and Rs 2,970-2,995 per quintal respectively.
