Wheat procurement in Haryana reaches 67 lakh tonne

Haryana has procured 67,54,386 metric tonnes of wheat so far during the current Rabi marketing season against the target of 65 lakh metric tonnes of crop.

The procurement is 3,48,222 metric tones higher as compared to the purchases made same day last year, a Haryana Food and Supplies department spokesperson said.

The total arrival of 67,54,386 metric tonnes this year, 67,53,964 metric tonnes of crop has been procured by government procuring agencies on Minimum Support Price (MSP) and remaining 422 metric tonnes was mopped up by the traders, he said.

Giving details of the procurement, the official said over 20.08 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had been procured by the Food and Supplies Department, over 29.50 lakh metric tonnes by Hafed, over 6.96 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana Agro, more than 10.93 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 5,800 metric tonnes of wheat was purchased by Confed.
