Wheat remains weak on reduced offtake by flour mills

Wheat prices fell further by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale market today owing to reduced offtake by flour mills against higher arrivals from producing belts.

However, other grains moved in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said reduced offtake by flour mills against adequate supplies from producing areas mainly kept pressure on wheat prices.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) shed another Rs 10 to Rs 1,660-1,665 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired lower by the same margin to Rs 1,665-1,670 per 90 kg.

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 5,600-6,100, Rice Pusa (1121) 4,900-6,000, Permal raw 1,750-1,800, Permal wand 1,875-1,900, Sela 2,450-2,500 and Rice IR-8 1,575-1,625, Bajra 1,200-1,210, Jowar yellow 1,500-1,530,white 2,530-2,630, Maize 1,430-1,435, Barley 1,620-1,630.
