Wheat and rice basmati prices fell up to Rs 100 per quintal on the wholesale grains market today on increased supplies from producing regions against weak demand.
Marketmen said increased supplies from producing belts against weak demand mainly kept pressure on wheat and rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) fell further by Rs 5 to Rs 1,645-1,650 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,650-1,655 per 90 kg.

In the rice section, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety also fell by Rs 100 each to Rs 8,800-9,100 and Rs 8,200-8,800 per quintal, respectively.
