unauthorised hoardings and sign boards in the area, they replied that such information is not available with them," Goyal said, distributing the official reply to members present.
"How can the department not know the answer to this question?" he asked. He also expressed concerns about under- recovery by the advertising department.
"Against the target of Rs 35 crore, only 12 crore have been recovered till now. Just how will we reach the intended amount by March 31?" Goyal asked.
In his reply, Pandey admitted that a lack of staff and process of trifurcation had led to less than optimum recovery. "We are trying our best to achieve the target," he said.
In addition, the opposition also questioned the allotment of parking sites to contractors who had not cleared their dues with other corporations.
"We have already directed that those contractors who have amounts due to any corporation not be allotted any sites, even if they are the highest bidders," Gupta clarified.
Intervening in the matter, Chandolia directed officials to register FIR in all six zones against those indulging in illegal parking.
"This will send a tough message to those indulging in such practices. Also, zonal officers will be authorised to take action against any offenders," he said.
