Consumer durables firm Whirlpool India today reported a 18.19 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 98.1 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, thanks to lower expenses.
The company had posted a standalone net profit of Rs 83 crore during the same period in Fiscal year 2014.
Net sales went up by 4.7 per cent at Rs 1,068 crore during the April-June quarter as against Rs 1,020 crore in FY 2014, Whirlpool said in a BSE filing.

Overall expenses of the company stood at Rs 966.78 crore in the quarter under review, up 3.20 per cent as against Rs 936.75 crore in the year ago period.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 773.90 on BSE during the afternoon trade, down 3.14 per cent from its previous close.
