White water rafting begins in Goa

With monsoon rains lashing the Western Ghats, Goa Tourism Development Corporation has begun its white water rafting season in Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary as a part of its eco-tourism initiative.

White water rafting is a sport adventure activity thathas become very popular during the monsoons. Both tourists and locals have beenindulging in this activity during the last three years and we are confident thatthe2016 editionwill alsoget an overwhelming response, GTDC Chairman Nilesh Cabral said.

"The river rafting facility will be available from July to October 2016 subject to availability of rapids and adequate water currents, and suitable weather conditions. There will be two trips beginning at 9.30 AM and 2.30 PM every day. The raftingactivityis open to both adults and children above 12 years," he said.
