Upping the ante, BJP today questioned the "silence" of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on the issue of Robert Vadra's land deals and said it is only adding to the suspicion that the "family" has something to avoid answering.
The party also charged Sonia and Rahul with evading queries on corruption and said the Vadra issue will remain till the Congress chief and vice president come clean on it.
BJP's latest salvo came a day after it released a video and booklet targeting Sonia's son-in-law Vadra over his land deals, prompting a a sharp reaction from his wife Priyanka, who said the BJP was scurrying like panic-stricken rats and resorting to lies.

"Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the Vice President, who talked about cleansing political environment and bringing about democracy in his own party, should have answered the people of India long ago.... It is high time now that the Congress President gave an answer," BJP Spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said.
She said the questions raised by BJP yesterday on the Vadra issue were based on documents and deserve answers. "Her silence is only adding to the suspicion that the Congress family has something to avoid answering," she said.
The BJP spokesperson also wondered if the internal politics of Congress did not allow them to speak about them or "defend" Vadra and said it will not be "silenced" on the issue and will continue to raise it till answers were received from the Congress chief.
She cautioned Congress against misinterpreting facts on the issue saying the Supreme Court has not given any clean chit to Vadra.
"Let the Congress party not misuse information to mislead the people in the Vadra matter," she said.
