Congress today had a dig at BJP chief Rajnath Singh wondering why the former UP Chief Minister did not visit Muzaffarnagar during the last three weeks since the outbreak of communal violence and hinted that he was only trying to fish in troubled waters.
"It is a surprise to me that Rajnath Singh did not visit Mujaffarnagar since the riots broke out. He was a Chief Minister of that state. What prevented him from visiting the state? If anybody wants to fish in troubled water, he should not do it....
"I do not know whether he wanted to or intended to go there or not," party spokesperson PC Chacko told reporters here.

Singh also accused the Samajwadi Party of spreading riots in Uttar Pradesh whenever it comes to power in the state.
The Congress spokesperson said that "it is always better late than never" and he wishes that the UP Chief Minister and the state government should swiftly take action and arrest all the culprits.
He said that the state government should make a conducive atmosphere so that people living in relief camps return to their native place and that the Congress will "support, cooperate" with the state government in that effort.
