Widespread rains in Himachal Pradesh

Several areas of Himachal Pradesh received moderate to heavy rains but minimum temperatures rose by a few notches.

Renuka in Sirmaur district was wettest in the region with 60 mm rains while Mehre, Nagrota Suryian and Bharari received 55 mm, 43 mm and 40 mm rains, followed by Gohar and Arki 28 mm, Bijahi 27 mm, Guler 23 mm, Banjar 22 mm, Pachhad 21 mm, Dharampur 20 mm, Berthin and Una 19 mm, Solan 18 mm, Sarahan 14 mm, Bharwain and Bhoranj 12 mm, Hamirpur, Sujanpur Tira 11 mm and Mandi 10 mm.

The minimum temperatures rose marginally across the state even as the region had widespread moderate rains and Kalpa and Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur tribal districts recorded a low of 10.8 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degrees Celsius while Manali registered night temperature of 11.4 degrees Celsius.
 

Shimla recorded a low of 16.7 degrees Celsius while Nahan and Dharamsala registered minimum temperature at 17.7 degrees Celsius, followed by Solan 18.6 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 18.8 degrees Celsius, Palampur 19.5 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 20.5 degrees Celsius and Una 22.4 degrees Celsius.

However, the day temperatures rose by two to four degrees and Una was hottest with a high of 33.4 degrees Celsius while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded maximum temperature at 30.6 degrees Celsius and 28.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Dharamsala 27.8 degrees Celsius, Nahan 26.7 degrees Celsius, Solan 24 degrees Celsius, Shimla 22 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 20.6 degrees Celsius and Manali 18 degrees Celsius.

The local MeT office has predicted rains and thundershowers in lower and middle hills and rains or snow in higher hills over the next six days.
