"28-year-old Reena Vishwas, wife of ayurvedic doctor Piyush Vishwas, Farhat Khan, 32, Rizwan alias Sibu, 25, and Promit Roy, 31, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the attack on Piyush," a police official said.

According to police, Piyush, who runs 'Bengali Clinic' at Gaushala in Central Delhi for last three years, was shot at by some unknown persons on December 11. Piyush sustained gun shot injury on the left side of his neck.

"During investigation, police came to know that he was not having good relations with his wife and she was in touch with some persons in Sambhal (UP). Based on this input, Farhat was arrested and interrogated," Addl CP (Central district) D C Srivastva said.

On interrogation, he broke down and confessed to his crime and disclosed that he was hired by Promit to kill Piyush as his sister Reena had asked him to do so, the official said.

Khan also said the deal to eliminate Piyush was finalised for Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 65,000 were given to him by Roy in advance. Khan along with his three accomplices, Rizwan alias Sabu and two others, reached Piyush's clinic and shot him.

Based on Khan's confession, Rizwan alias Sabbu was arrested and later Roy and Reena were also apprehended.

"Reena said she was having an illicit relation with a person and wanted to marry him. Piyush had objected and beaten her several times. On this, Reena hatched a conspiracy with her brother and then hired Khan to kill Piyush. On sustained interrogation, Reena and Roy have confessed their crime," police said.

Efforts are being made to arrest the remaining two accused persons also, they said, adding that the weapon of offence has been seized.
