Wife of conductor who died in roof collapse seeks govt job

The wife of a government bus conductor, among five killed when the roof of a bus stand collapsed here on September 7, today urged the Collector to take steps to provide her a job as promised by the government.

Soundarya, with her one-year old child, petitioned the collector T N Hariharan, stating that the Government had announced financial compensation and a government job to her, after the death of her 36-year old husband

Though she had received the solatium, she was still waiting for the government job, she said.

Since she was from Madurai, she requested that she be given a job in that city as the family was struggling to make ends meet.
