A 40-year-old woman and her brother were today arrested for allegedly strangulating her husband to death in her house at Irugur on the outskirts.
The woman was frustrated with her husband, who used to come home drunk and quarrel with her, police said.
The woman with the help of her brother allegedly strangulated the man using a rope, as he came drunk last night and hung the body from the ceiling, to make it look as if he committed suicide, they said.
Police said the truth came out after the woman was questioned.
Both brother and sister were arrested and remanded to judicial custody and have been lodged in the central jail here.
