Wildlife census in STR in 2016

The wildlife census at

Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve would be conducted next year.

The last census was conducted in February 2012.

Deputy Director of the Forest Reserve C H Padma told reporters that as per the previous census, there are 1100 elephants, 56 Tigers in the forest.

She said a proposal was sent to Tamil Nadu government for the overall development of the STR at a cost of Rs 2.20 crore.
