Congress respects the people's verdict in the Assembly polls in Rajasthan, but the party would now work towards its aim of bouncing back in the Lok Sabha elections later this year, Union Minister Sachin Pilot said here.

Pilot, who was recently appointed the state Congress president, today addressed his first rally in Rajasthan ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

He said that while it sits in the opposition in the state Assembly, Congress would try and ensure that the ruling BJP worked properly in the interests of the masses.

Pilot, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Corporate Affairs, also flagged off the Bikaner-Ratangarh passenger train today as part of his trip to Bikaner.

Meanwhile, sources said that Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram is to arrive tomorrow on a visit to Bikaner to attend an event.
