"The state government will bring more reforms to further improve the health delivery system, particularly in rural and far-flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir," Sharma said after inaugurating a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at village Sohal in Akhnoor tehsil.
He said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has marked healthcare as a priority sector and adequate funds through Central and state resources will be provided for the same.
Urging the state's medical fraternity to enhance efforts for better delivery of services, Sharma said that people had high expectations from them.
Pitching for sound inter-departmental coordination, the minister said extension of healthcare facilities to rural and border areas should be taken as a "mission" by all involved in the sector.
