Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today assured the state Assembly that he will look into allegations of land allotment under the Housing Board as the JMM continued its demand of action against Urban Development minister C P Singh for the second consecutive day.

"I have convened a meeting of the Housing Board this evening and everything will be clear," Das said as the Leader of Opposition Hemant Soren demanded action against Singh.

Urging all members to desist from allegations and counter allegations without evidence, Das said his government would not compromise on the issue of corruption.

Soren, however, said they would not listen to the replies given by Singh in the House concerning his departments as the JMM considered the minister as an "accused" in the Housing Board allotment issue.

The House had yesterday witnessed stormy scenes as both Singh and Soren traded corruption charges with the minister accusing Soren of illegally purchasing tribal land and accusing his sister in-law and JMM MLA Sita Soren of receiving money from a candidate during a Rajya Sabha election.

The minister's charges came after the JMM demanded his resignation as he "misguided" the Election Commission during filing of nominations and accused him of committing irregularities in the Harmu Housing Board allotments.

Singh denied both the charges, saying he had purchased a 3,000 sq ft plot from a person in a transparent manner and submitted all property-related documents to the EC during the 2009 and the 2014 elections.
