Will make all efforts to turn Rajasthan into 'green state': CM

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today said the state government would make all efforts to turn the desert state into a "green state".

During a meeting with state Urban Development and Housing (UDH) Minister Shrichand Kriplani, she said in the days to come, the residents of Jaipur would get to breathe fresh air due to increased greenery.

"Plantation work will be taken up in parts of the state capital for beautification and enhancing greenery," the chief minister said, adding "easy-to-maintain" plant saplings would be planted.

Also, according to the presentation put forward in the meeting, the Jawahar Lal Nehru road would be divided in nine zones for plantation and beautification.
 

Additional chief secretary of UDH ministry Mukesh Sharma and principal secretary of local self government Manjit Singh, among other officers were present in the meeting.
