Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today assured a group of young girl students from Jammu and Kashmir that security forces will not allow terrorists to enter the state and carry out attacks.

Addressing the students from Samba, where Pakistani terrorists sneaked in killing ten people, including an Army officer in September, he said security forces would ensure that no such incident take place there.

Police and military presence in Samba will prevent any recurrence of terrorist incidents, Shinde was quoted as saying in a statement issued by CRPF.

30 girls are on a Central Reserve Police Force-sponsored study tour to historical places like Amritsar, Delhi and Agra.

The Home Minister lauded the girls saying they are brave as they are continuing with their studies, in spite of terrorist activities in their area.

He said government is trying to bring peace and prosperity to Jammu and Kashmir.

Shinde said students of Jammu and Kashmir and northeast have an instinct in them to excel in studies and other fields.

The girls belong to the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Samba.

The girls, during the meeting, also interacted with Home Secretary Anil Goswami and CRPF chief Dilip Trivedi.
